Healthcare

Tawas Village is not a nursing home. The health care of residents is directed by our Resident Manager and a consulting nurse. The Resident Manager provides support and oversees the care when needed. She is a vital link between the residents and their doctors. She assists in scheduling doctor appointments and coordinating ancillary activities. A Medication Reminder service can be arranged for those who require it at a monthly fee. In addition, we provide Bathing Assistance service for a monthly fee, if needed. If a resident requires both of these services and additional assistance that person may qualify for our Extra Needs program. We truly believe that community living promotes longevity in life by preventing many health problems that occur when a person lives alone.

Transportation

Housekeeping and Laundry

Transportation is provided for all off premise activities. Transportation is also provided Tuesdays through Thursdays for local appointments (medical, salon, etc). Residents may also be taken to do their shopping, etc.

Light housekeeping is provided on a daily basis with heavier cleaning on a weekly basis. Bed linens are changed once per week (more often if needed) and towels/wash clothes are changed daily. Personal laundry is cleaned once per week – more often if needed.

Social Activities & Entertainment

Once a member of the Tawas Village family, one will be able to share their experiences and talents with the others opening up a gateway to a more rewarding life. There are scheduled daily activities such as exercise, bingo, crafts, musicians, plays, concerts, shopping, dining out, etc. We encourage our residents to get involved and participate in local, cultural, civic and other activities.
